OK... Let the Fight Begin! Which is the Best Touring Motorcycle?

I mean... it's pretty much the Ford/Chevy feud that's been goin' on for a hundred years... only this one on two wheels! :-) ...

Whew! A fella that asks what's the best motorcycle oughta duck!

... and then go get his head examined. :-)

So... Take your best shot! Pick it! Which do you say is the Best Touring Motorcycle? Just play nice! No knives, guns, or knuckles... we're all friends here! :-)

I figure most folks are gonna either say... some variety of a Harley Davidson... or Honda Gold Wing... Then there's gonna be a goodly number that'll swear BMW is God's gift to Motorcycle Touring.

... and I won't throw rocks at any of those machines... I'd be happy to be splittin' the wind on any of 'em... as long as I was bending the twisties on Freedom Road!

But, Me?... For a 'Best Motorcycle', I'm partial to a more traditional cruiser motorcycle... without any fairings or windshields... Hell, I even prefer pegs to foot boards.

My preference for a Naked Cruiser seems to bother a good friend of mine too... Every time we stop at a cafe' and I'm brushin' busted bug leftovers off my jacket... all I can hear is him grousin'; "If you'd get a windshield, you wouldn't have to do that!"

... "Why? It only seems to bother you!" says I with a grin...

So... Whad-a-ya-think?

Which do you think is the Best Touring Motorcycle?

I know, that there's a whole lot of Motorcycle Touring riders that can only think of touring on a Harley or a BMW...

But there's got to be some others too...
