From the San Fran bay area at the end of May, my wife and I started an aimless adventure (usually we plan around sunny weather) heading towards Sedona, AZ. only to be caught in rain storms.

Some riders pointed us in the direction of Big Sur, CA. They said the sun was out and the weather warm.

Nope! The storm followed us. So we think maybe Nevada has better weather.

So to Carson city we go. The storm again follows us for about 3 1/2 hours. Finally the skies are blue again for a stretch, but it's cold. We stopped for gas maybe 20 miles from the Cali/Nev border and lo and behold it starts snowing on us. The attendant said they got word the roads were closed into Nevada 'til the snow was cleared.

When we got home I felt sort of bad that I put my wife through all this, though I enjoyed every minute of it. I could've checked weather forecast, better roads to take, so on and so on. She said, "That ride was great, let's take another trip in a couple weeks". Wow...what a girl.

This is how I ride. Since I was 16. I ride aimlessly, take a road I've never been on, meet strange-beautiful folks. That's the high..the adventure. I've known my co-pilot since we were 24 years old, now were 58. It's been great.

We ride a '09 Star Raider. Has a performance parts touring seat that I'd rather sit on then my own couch, national wind deflector, tourmaster tail bag. I've never had a more comfortable bike.

*ed. note; Sweet! Finally another Raider Rider! and the same age pilot as myself... I guess it's true... Great Minds think alike! :o)
